How much would the servers cost if they were placed in North Carolina? And then compared to the server in Germany? We can have the servers were it is in the middle of everybody. We all would be around the same ping. West coast fighters and Dick E. Boon would be able to play again.

And if it is cheaper in Germany then at least give us the ability to run our own servers so the West Coast to Mid American fighters/Boon can play without having a ping of 180-190.

dont think you get the idea behind "ping". If you have lower ping, someone else will have higher.

That's what I meant. Something that is suitable for everybody, and this goes for OB3D as well. Instead of having these different pings let's try to nail down a suitable location for everybody. And you are right I don't know much about ping. I mean it really does suck for the people that were about to play but can't now because of the new server location. For me it's fine. But I am just wanting to help out the people that can't play. I can help pay for the new servers, that's not a problem. I have always asked if you need any help with the servers and the time that you asked for some help I did pitch in along with a few other fighters on here. I'm willing to help out again. And I am willing to get this game going again.

The Server is allright where it is. Just because some got not that superiour ping that they got before moving to another Server again?
Its a fact that this Server now got much more Quality than the one before..not that much skipping caused by the server, no server caused freezes etc.
Oh dear..Boon got a higher ping than before? This guy was never available to Play this game. Not with the old server and not with the new. It got something of masochism to Play this game vs. boon.
Everytime i log on i see most of the fighters with good pings. Just 1-2 with really bad pings.
With the old server we guys from europe never cried cause of bad pings. That seperates us from you american guys.

Ahhh no? Nobody is complaining about their ping not being "superior" enough to play this game. Not the case at all Redneck.

Titan wrote:Its a fact that this Server now got much more Quality than the one before..not that much skipping caused by the server, no server caused freezes etc.

That is a load of horse shit. Nigel, Bear, Reaper, and whoever else from the UK can barely fight any American fighter because of the server!! I have never seen a problem like this where only UK-USA fights lag but every where else does not. That poses a problem. Especially when the game is still bringing in new fighters.

Titan wrote:Oh dear..Boon got a higher ping than before? This guy was never available to Play this game. Not with the old server and not with the new. It got something of masochism to Play this game vs. boon.

Do you even see Boon play anymore? Nope. Only time he got on was when I asked him too. Yeah his ping is much much higher then before. Boon was able to get his "ping" at 180ms. I am cool with that. Now it is at 230-240ms. That's way too slow, not fightable at all.

Titan wrote:Everytime i log on i see most of the fighters with good pings. Just 1-2 with really bad pings.

Yeah the few fighters that are willing to play again can't play at all because of the ping. Unstop at 160? Edder at 180? The Sniper at 190? Popeye at 190? Hell even HTF had like a 160-170 ping. So no. Edd, Sniper, Popeye is just way too slow. Boon would play in that ping but those guys can't, it's not fun at all. The only european I remember that had somewhat of a high ping was Couture and his ping was 150ms which is not bad at all. So yeah I can expect no european to complain about the server back then. My ping is just fine, I am happy with it. Not happy at the fact that I can't face any UK fighters much anymore without the fight skipping and lagging to the point of no return. But that is a different topic though. The fact of the matter is that we should find a suitable location where we ALL can play at good to decent speeds. Instead of alienating the west coast to mid US fighters. And for the record, the only people that are complaining about the ping is the people stated above. So there is no "seperation" between European and Americans. And honestly I can careless where anybody is from. This is the Online Boxing community, not a continent war.

Mikkel what if the servers were switched to Spain or Portugal? Way closer to North America then Germany is and the European fighters would still have a great ping. It kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Honestly I think that would be the best suitable location for everybody. Do you think that is do-able?

I'm glad you agree with that Redneck hahaha. Honestly you don't see much of a difference from 0ms to 30-40ms. And we all would have faster fights. Not only that, switching the servers would also fix our UK-USA fight problem. So actually it would kill 3 birds with 1 stone. West coast to Mid-USA fighters would be able to fight again. European fighters would still have awesome ping, and everybody would be lag free.

I found a place called "digital ocean" with cheap servers. Not sure where they are located though but it looks interesting.

Right now I dont have money or anything (like always) but if some of you would find and pay for a good server I wouldnt mind help you setting it up. I would keep the old server as well. But 2D could run on this new dedicated server. I cant go through the huge work of a total switch (domain name etc and days and days of installing stuff), but I could pretty easy setup a 2D server that would interact with the main server (in germany). The actual fights would then be on the new server and the website etc would be on the "old" server.

Well Mikkel I can pitch in about $30-40 for a good server in Spain. And would this dedicated server help out the ping of the west coast to mid US fighters? If so then that would definitely help out a lot.

Google around, you'll find some good cheap servers.
Try "digital ocean", for example.
Ask them for an IP to ping so people can test their ping before.
Remember I have zero money at all. So you guys will have to pay for it. But I can help installing 2D on it.
