I thought it was pretty funny. In fact, I posted it on my website.
Rocky Marciano wrote:I retired my alt Contender after I won a title (again) and got stripped for the 4th time due to bugged script. After that I boxed some relaxed funny matches like using noob hook only, using super aggressive no remorse style and made couple of funny alts.

My last serious alt I made was "reincarnation" of my main alt Rocky Marciano. Before I made it I decided it to be my last alt and "last hurrah" on this game. I boxed Vargas etc. and beat them all going undefeated. I went to 30-0 or something, undefeated and title holder. So yes I got a title again and it felt good. In fact it felt really good. As an example both Larry Holmes and Fernando Vargas wanted a shot and I wanted to give shots to all. Well Fernando Vargas and Larry Holmes boxed for right to get a title shot. Vargas TKOed Larry and then I boxed him giving him title shot. I neutralized his game and KOed him on his corner. A good match but then liittle later I got stripped for the 5th time by that damn bugged script, got fed up with it, decided that there is no point anymore when a guy who gives title shots to best boxers on this game gets stripped like that and does not get his title back... and retired all my alts away from rankings and called it quits. I was undefeated, title holder, defended against the best there is and then got stripped.

Depending on if Black Bear is counted as active boxer or not I am 3rd or 4th best active fighter or rather I was 3rd or 4th best. Why? Well rest of them I beat and I do not mean this as an offence but it was not hard. I now know why Fatny decided to retire from rankings. After a while winning does become rather boring. Anyway Black Bear owns me but he retired (so there goes my challenge and goal of beating him, I was working on it), Fatny owns me (and the rest too)and against you I can win (and have traded wins with you) but I know you have moderate edge over me and rate you above myself for that reason. I don't play this game anymore other logging on once in a while to do crazy funny matches like spamming like mad, using noob hooks only etc. In other words I don't box seriously anymore and go for the win. I box to have some relaxing fun time now.

All these ratings are pretty futile anyway. First of all styles make matches. If guy A beats B and B beats C it does not automatically mean guy A can beat C. Second this is that people will never agree with any rankings whatsoever. People have huge egos, feel entitled to this and that ranking and so on.

In the end we are all human (but fatny) and do lose. Anyone is capable of winning against anyone. Even Fatny takes losses. All it matters are titles and we have the script stripping champions for no reason, people ducking not giving title shots.

ps.

"Vargas: Do you still play? If so, who are you? There are a few guys posing as you."

"Reaper: You post a lot on the forum, but I don't see you fighting. Who are you currently hiding under?"

I do not know if either Reaper or Vargas box anymore but I know both of them used to make alts. There have been number of new names popping up left and right with serious skills, skills that you only get by having played a lot so yes I do suppose they both hide behind alts. For me it does not matter as I boxed all those alts and won. There is this one alt maker that I finally decided not to box. He is Marquez or something. That guy made three alts (I know only 3 he might have made more) sending me challenges. I boxed those alts of him beating him and each time I beat him he made a new alt. Finally I decided to stop boxing his alts and only give him matches if he logs on his original main alt. That he refused to do.

I feel that Vargas has potential to become second only to Fatny if he ever learns to pick his shots better and not waste his stamina like crazy.

Good points, except that I've only been back for less than two months while most of you have been playing for years straight. Give me at least 4 more months, and I guarantee I will be more difficult to defeat.
Chopper, give me a crack at your title, and I'll give you a crack at one of mine. I'd like to attempt to unify all the titles before Fatny decides he wants to come back and kick ass. Of course, you'd be getting the same opportunity yourself.

Let me know when you will be online. I'm at work most of the day, but can usually get on after 9:00 P.M. Eastern USA time. Thanks bro.
Thanks Catfish. I hope you come back. God knows we need more solid players on this game.

And like Rocky said, you surely are a solid veteran.

Tyrant, stop hating. Even Yacoob gave me props last year. I don't believe he used the word "sweet" to describe my personality, but it was a compliment nonetheless. Hater! haha
I always hear certain people talking about how they're top fighters, but I don't see them fight under any of their Main IDs anymore. So to lend some clarity, would the following people please state their alts?

The Contender/Rocky Marciano: You hardly ever fight with these IDs anymore. Therefore, who are you currently fighting under? I'm particularly curious because you rate yourself 3rd in the game so it would be nice to see if that's true by analyzing your alt records.

Vargas: Do you still play? If so, who are you? There are a few guys posing as you.

Reaper: You post a lot on the forum, but I don't see you fighting. Who are you currently hiding under?

A few questions.

Who is Marquez?

Why do alts constantly like to talk smack when you won't face their 5-0 ID? They should be the ones to grow some balls and get on their Main IDs.

Contender, do you still fight? How many other alts do you have?

Does Reaper still fight? I see him on the forums, but not online. What are his alts?

Does Tyrant still fight? What are his alts?

This is based on my personal experience against various fighters. If you're a top fighter and I didn't include you, it's probably because we haven't fought or haven't fought enough.

1. Fatny: The obvious #1.
2. I'm not sure. I believe Vargas aka "Marquez" and I have to fight several times to see who takes this spot.
3. The loser in the series between Marquez and I.
4. X-Treme Skillz/Contender/Boxa: Not quite sure about this one either.
5. X-Treme Skillz/Contender: One of these guys.
6. X-Treme Skillz/Contender: One of these guys.

I don't know about the rest of the spots because I haven't sat down and done a head-to-head comparison of how the rest have faired against each other recently.

So I guess the next 5 spots would be between Captain America, Nigel Benn (not very active), Black Bear (not very active either), Red Viper, Golden Boy, etc.

Again, if you're a top fighter and I didn't include you or you feel you were rated incorrectly, it's because I haven't fought you or we haven't fought each other enough for me to gauge your overall skills.

Just my two cents as of today.
It would be a good idea if the game were only singleplayer mode, but it wouldn't be very fair to disrupt someone's rhythm by pausing a fight. Unfortunately, many people would abuse this feature bro. Hey, you gotta weigh out the cons as well.

Good fights and good luck with high school. When you go into college, you'll probably need it because it will be a lot harder than high school.

I just read your signature. The first fighter to KO me on this ID? Did you not check out my record? I was KOd by popeye in my 3rd fight back August 6, 2008.

Your were like the 7th-8th fighter to KO me. Get your facts straight, bro. *shakes head*

casa has all of the above

Marquez can't work southpaws, eh? Marquez TKO 11.
Larry Holmes wrote:Well u havent been here during most of Fatny era. Personally I think this era is as good as any and the fighters just as good as in "your" era.

Actually you're right. I haven't been here during most of his reign, but I wasn't around for most of HTF's reign either.

But I know what the competition has been like in both eras, because I used to drop by from time to time and browsed the forums. Perhaps today the talent may be equal in ways to the era I fought in, but there is no denying that today we do not have the abundance of talent we did back then. I mean aside from my latest comeback, what other greats of the game fight consistently? Where are Mike, HTF, Black Bear, and Larry Holmes? Did Fatny beat them all into retirement? If that's the case then I apologize. That would definitely make Fatny, The Man.

But I guess in a nutshell what I was trying to say earlier is that quality and quantity of opposition should be heavily factored when having this discussion, particularly because in the past there were a number of HOFers battling it out consistently for months/years as the rest of the OB world just watched.

Today we have one guy owning the game with less than half the amount of players participating, and most of the current HOFers have seen their best days behind them. They're most likely going through the same phase I did over the the past several years where one lives a busy live and no longer really has the motivation to become very good at this game again.

Fortunately, I've been able to spend more time online these days, and that has allowed me to once again start participating. Now I'm curious to see how well I can play after being out for so long. It's been an interesting ride. I didn't expect to play for a week and then get rated #2 in the game by Fatny. It was a great honor. I figured that if I can be rated that highly by him after a week, maybe , just maybe, I can get to his level after 6 months of consistent play.

Now get your ass back in shape and get back into it. That way we can have more of our historic 15 round snooze fests.

P.S. Fatny, please take more time off so your super human timing and speed are negatively altered.
From my experience, HTF was the probably best all-around, but Fatny has been the most difficult to defeat. In their respective primes, the others were tough as well but weren't as unbeatable at their peaks. Then again back then there was more competition than there is now. Back when I began playing this game we had like 40-50 regular people playing consistently as opposed to the 15 or so that play now. You gotta factor it all in, but ultimately it most likely comes down to HTF and Fatny. I think a mistake many of us make is to go with the new flavor while forgetting just how great the old flavor was. In other words, it's common for many of us to put more emphasis on the present than the past. It's almost common nature for people to forget the past which is unfair IMO.
Rocky Marciano wrote:He also chose not to give Fernando Vargas or me a shot.

I dont blame him....

If that's true then that's wrong. It would degrade the unification process. It's the equivalent of Floyd Mayweather Jr. picking and choosing his opponents and then calling himself the Undisputed Welterweight Champion without having fought the top welterweights like Margarito and Paul Williams.

That said, I'll give Xtreme Skillz the benefit of the doubt because he's never come across as someone that would duck a challenge. Maybe you guys just caught up at a bad time?
As I mentioned in another thread, the last couple of times I've logged on, it's been pretty dead. However, that's probably because I log on at odd times. What can I say, I lead a very busy life (work 12 hour days for the govt., raising two boys, working on several screenplays).

Anyways, to make a long story short, the other day it occured to me that it would be really fun to watch some of the up and coming fighters improve greatly and become top 10, top 5, or maybe even HOF worthy someday.

I remember back in the day when Tyrant took Here to Fight under his wing and the rest was history. If the HOF ever decides to have an honorary member, no one is more deserving than a guy like Tyrant. He was never as great as Here to Fight, but he created the monster Here to Fight was during his prime. Surely, that deserves some major props.

So if you aren't top 10 and you're interested, hit me up and we can begin training when I'm online. I've already chosen one player, but I'm looking for one more.

I don't know if Fatny is back yet, but I think it would be great if he were to take 2 fighters as well. That way in like 1-3 months we can see which of our fighters improved the most based off of our training methods.

This is just an idea I'm tossing out there. It's not a gym or anything, just an OB Apprentice. Just tossing out ideas to spice this place up. Cheers.
I don't really care how he does it, but if he does unify all 4, that's pretty impressive. I mean it's not like he hasn't beaten very good fighters to get there.

Yes, I haven't fought a lot the past week or so and I was rusty, but that's because every time I log on, either no one is online or those that are online won't fight me.

Props to Skillz either way. If he keeps it up for awhile, there could be HOF talk. He just needs to be consistent for awhile. However, keep in mind that not everyone that's a unified champ is in the HOF. sugarray is a good example of a fighter who was very good in his prime, but wasn't consistent enough to get into the HOF. That's a real shame too because the guy was as classy as classy gets on this game.

Keep it up Skillz. Can't wait to box you again. I will get my revenge soon.
