Maybe if someone found a server and prepaid everything for a year or so, I'd consider it.

Wow never thought id see the day.... This game kept me busy from 02-06 and definitely kept me off the streets mikkel... I honestly used to rush home from school to train with Jermain Taylor and wake up at 6 in the morning and talk to Newguy(HTF) and fight occasionally...When i got to college i could not play as much as i found myself occupied with school, parties, girls and there was definitely no time for OB...i had just started a little comeback until this announcement was made =( ..... Larry it was one hell of a time but u are still a FIG...Fatny=Fagny because i couldnt crack his style...Tyrant the best of boxing gay and the 1-2 combo...Viper quick ass uppercuts, it was between u and Godfather who had the best uppercut... JT u disappeared while on the top, u was my main dude as we grew together on the game... Sal had his tricky styles especially with Happy Killmore, he dominated the down + ctrl 9 punch kept the fighter at a distance... All i can say about this is Thanks Mikkel for creating such a game that can really help me as an individual....

Ok Mikkel we got your message that we are all assholes for not playing OB3D and criticizing changes made on OB2D. Now can you please stop punishing the regular OB2D players (there are still plenty of them) and let us play this game again? This isnt funny anymore. What do you want us to do?

As of today I will go into a hunger strike. I won't eat anymore until OB2D is up and running again. You don't want me to die do you Mikkel?

You idiots it was Mikkel's plan all along to destroy 2D. I've been saying this for years. He got all bitchy about no one playing 3D. He used to come online seeing like 5 or 6 2D players and then when everyone left started ranting how stupid everyone was for not playing 3D. Sometime after those episodes he began the new stamina change, despite pissing everyone off he was adamant that the bullshit change stuck. Then when people got used to that, he decided he needed something more outlandish and set the power so high that one punch would knock you down. This went on for months. As the p-base faded, bullshit change after bullshit change led to this event. Mikkell has won, but at what cost? No one here will support 3D, and soon those hours will just be cast off as a failure.

You get me wrong boon I closed the game because people were not playing 2D anymore..a little more was actually playing 3D.
I mean it was empty from dusk to down..utterly deserted.
Why keep a game open that none is playing ? It had 10 years to gather people, and there's still none playing it.
To me it seems more that people are pissed that I don't give 100% concentration to 2D or don't make the game 100% the way they like it, and therefore ragequit. Now the same people are pissed that the game is closed.

I think this is the problem, I don't have alot of time for 2D, and when I do have it and try to do something, the regulars will just say I ruined the game to make people play 3D, which is not true. When I dont do anything, the regulars will tell me that I dont do enough and that I'm trying to kill it.

So I'm doomed if I do and doomed if I dont.

That's why there's no reason to keep them together anymore.

Its true that I tried to convince people to play 3D but I long ago gave up on that.

I took a little break from OB, but I was still going to play. Unstop and Tyrant was about to come back. Once I get a compatible controller I will be able to play OB3D. Mikkel you should add the following to 3D. It might bring more people.

I remember hearing Ray Johnson talking about balancing the game by character customization. Have 50 points for each fighter. The Users would be able to use those points to modify their character.

Strength(Power of each punch)
Charisma(Recovery speed for stamina,punching power and Body/Head health )
Speed(Faster punching)
Endurance(Withstand more punches)
Heart(Faster get-ups from Knockdowns)
Stamina(More energy)
Cut(Less chances of getting cuts)

Each skill can go from 1 to 10, depending on how much skill points you have. Mikkel you would not have to change anything to the game settings. This would fix all of the problems we used to have. If you do go with this then give full credit to Ray Johnson.

Heres another thing that people like.

CHALLENGES AND UNLOCKABLE ITEMS.

Create challenges like win 10 fights in a row or play a total of 50 fights or Win a title. Each challenge would unlock new items(new boots, belts, gloves, shorts, hair styles, facial hair, etc) that you could put on your character. This would make people stay for awhile. These can help Mikkel. I have some more ideas, thats if your interested in them.

The Legend

"John represents the renaissance of OB. John stepped up and filled the vacuum Fatny left behind. Not only his skills are amazing, also his dedication to keep this game interesting and alive. I was there when he first won the title, I was watching over his shoulder when he bullied all competition, I was there when he became a HOF´er. I may not be a great fighter myself, but I do have eye for talent. John is something special, I told him right after he won his first title. John is the spark that became a flame that turned into a devastating fire. Apart from being a great guy he never stepped down from a challenge and always looked to square off against OB´s best to further improve his skills. Many HOF´ers made short comebacks during the year John reigned OB, only to be knocked out by Big Bad John." - Dick E. Boon

"The thing with John is that he's just so extremely accurate, both in offense and in defense. There's some punches I consider myself a master of, like the small hook and the long upper. Well they're useless against John no matter how well you throw them, he just keeps blocking 90% of them and hurting you in the process. Speaking of which...if he hurts you (and he will), you better move your head a lot because he also happens to be one of the best finishers i've ever seen. Basically if you're not extremely good AND creative, you'll end up on the floor. A fine addition to the hall of fame indeed." - Fatny

sounds like you describe fight night here. thats what viper etc. say : "if i wanna play a 3D boxing game i play fight night." and that is a true thing. We wanna have the classical 2D boxing game and no 3D boxing game. Maybe on the net ppl who like mikkels 3D boxing. But the base of the guys playing 2D prefer this classic fighting game (for example...if viper, me etc. wanna have the 3D feeling we can play fight night round 2-4 on the console...with online option to play it with ppl all over the world).
We all can do like there is no rivalry in the world for 3D but there is a massive mighty with fight night. And that is the main reason why mikkel is facing problems with his new project. The 2D thing was without rivalry.
But this is an old debate and mikkel just gets angry with its topic. Maybe he is right to keep them separated. So he can see what horse makes the race. If there would be an option to bet to one of those two horses i would bet all my money to 2D because of the reasons above.

I also disagree that the game was deserted. I played almost every day. Maybe there weren´t so many players as before but there were still plenty.

As a game developer, shouldn´t you pay attention to what the players want? Most players want to play OB2D, not OB3D, whether you like it or not. With some changes OB2D could be awesome. It´s very good already.

Mikkel let me ask you again, want do we have to do for you to put up OB2D again?

I agree, if I want 3D I'll consider fight night.

Lets not talk 3D anymore it makes me mad when someone compares ob3d to Fight Night, without even knowing how to play the game.
