Welcome Friends! All Persian rugs are Oriental, but not all Oriental rugs are Persian. Confused yet? Genuine Persian rugs can be considered collectors pieces, and true Persian rugs are handmade regionally by artists from villages in Iran, formerly known as Persia. You can find rugs made elsewhere that certainly look like Persian rugs, but that is where the similarities end. You will even find rugs advertised as “Persian” rugs.
