As soon as 3D has a good player model, i'll use my scripts to spam "JOIN ONLINEBOXING AT ONLINEBOXING DOT NET" on all of the games i play

I agree tho, i don't want it to die.. even though i only talk on the forum. It's 1 hell of a community.

I'll be active as possible for the next three months because i don't have school.

I will be planning to make a tournament during this summer to boost this community. But it is going to be a more complex style of tournament.

I was supposed to be working on that but I sort of swayed away from it a little, exams, working on another mod etc.

Overall I agree, the community on OB has definitely gotta be the most entertaining I've ever been part of , so much drama.

Get back to it then And where have you been? Let me guess, had to take time out of games for life? Loser Seriously though, if you make the models i'll be more then happy to advertise (spam).

What mod you working on anyway? And which game? Curious..

I plan to after my exams when I can sit and work on them without any distractions, having to revise at certain times etc. I still have a badly textured glove model and a terrible attempt at a head that I made a while ago that I'll probably scrap anyway like but still. Anyways I might start on a new face tomorrow if I can be arsed.

EDIT: I might rent a small vent room for a month for OB, that'd be interesting .

Started modelling stuff again yesturday, saying that last time was the first time and that only lasted abour 3 days, anyway since I've got a week off I started over again.

What I got so far in 2 days.

I'm still crap with textures though as you can see. I've never tried to texture anything else than stuff like this. Gonna have to redo that glove though, looks pretty tacky.

Nice Oscar what program are you using? I was all into 3d in high school, in fact i almost went to a modeling/animating school after that (glad i didn't because i had zero talent). I used to do competitions with some friends in the time, we'd have a lan on a weekend and someone outside of the competition would pick up a theme and act as a judge for the results. Then we'd rush this the whole night 8-10 hours and he who made the best rendering scene won (how's THAT for geeky stuff).

I just did a research and its still on the competitions site. Here you can have a glimpse at one of my astounding pieces of art:

Yes you are in awe, I know. That was a star wars theme night and it dates from 2001 or 2002 with 3dsmax 4. I had a 400 MHZ computer at the time and these final renders would take like 45 minutes each. Good times.

Surprising, i look at the site and they still do those rendering competitions, with much more people and much better results of course. It's www.nuitmax.com (translation: night of max . com), but it's in french.

:O Nice stuff!

I'm using AC3D atm and photoshop for texture, still have no idea how to map properly though. I can proudly say that I've matched if not bettered Runescape modelers though (Unless they created the shit models on purpose).

You're lucky that you have friends into the same stuff, no one round here is interested in anything but using a photo filter for their myspace poses.

You could join some online 3d communities, I mean if we had that "nuitmax" concept going in french with many people, there has to be a website doing the same thing in english somewhere.

I remember 3dluvr.com had a big community and contests too but it seems dead now.

http://contest.3dluvr.com/ , last comment says 2005.

For texture mapping i don't know, it might be easier with a more advanced program, I see that AC3D sells for 80 bucks, i'm pretty sure it's weaker than the big ones like 3dsm or maya that sell for many hundreds in a few ways. In the time I could texture basic things alright, but organic things like a face would be way out of my league.

Anyway don't listen to me, i haven't touched a 3d program since a few years . I think i'll download a version of max sometime this week though for fun.

Yeah but it's all one single mesh and you wanted it in seperate bits or does it not matter anymore?

Lmao at that Fatny. I tried 3ds max and didn't really like it, AC3D is proper lightweight and you can still get good models from it.
